Cairns Wildlife Dome brings the exotic sights and sounds of the depths of the tropical rainforest right to the heart of the city.
The 20 metre glass dome is perched right on top of the iconic Pullman Reef Hotel Casino, not far from our Trinity Beach family accommodation. As soon as you step inside, you’ll be greeted by the calls of doves, parrots, rosellas, cockatoos and other colourful birds of the rainforest, which fly freely all around you and sometimes hitch a ride on your shoulder!
This award-winning immersive wildlife exhibit features over 3000 species of plant, 120 tonnes of earth and 50,000 litres of water and is carefully designed to represent the unique ecosystem of the rainforest. You can get up close to estuarine crocs via the underwater viewing tank, cuddle a koala, stroke a python and catch a glimpse of Snowy, the only albino laughing kookaburra currently on display in Australia.
There are fun, interactive and educational presentations from wildlife experts throughout the day and ticket prices include re-entry all day and for the next four days.
